What we do…
Foundation Properties had its start when two high school teachers left the classroom to pursue their dream of buying and selling houses. Mark Doherty and Jeremy McCommons, both former Colonial Forge High School teachers and coaches, made their start in the real estate industry in 2002.
Doherty and McCommons specialize in the Northern Virginia market with coverage areas including Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Prince William, King George and the surrounding areas. Both Doherty and McCommons share the same pride in their community, and as family men themselves, they understand the importance of finding the perfect place to call “home.”
The business partners are investors that buy foreclosed homes in bulk from banks and restore the properties to “like new” condition. Generally a restored home includes a fully renovated kitchen with brand new appliances and granite counter tops, freshly painted walls throughout and hardwood flooring. The pair has flipped over 100 foreclosed properties since their start, and according to McCommons they plan to continue this upward growth.
“Most of the homes we work with are starter homes, perfect for newlyweds, families or just individuals looking for a renovated house with upgraded features,” said Doherty.
One of the unique aspects of Foundation Properties business model is that Doherty and McCommons not only buy foreclosed houses; they also buy from homeowners in the community that are looking to sell their property.
“We want to buy your house,” said McCommons. “We have buyers that are waiting and ready to purchase homes at various price ranges - which is how we make it easy for you to quickly move your property.”
Doherty and McCommons, with their shared expertise, have made buying and selling homes in the Northern Virginia area easier and more affordable for individuals and families.
From teachers to “flippers” this dynamic duo has mastered the art of buying, renovating and selling homes.
